Simple: Overtaking - Don't!

No overtaking on the RIGHT HAND SIDE!

Most leaders can not see or guess who is going to overtake them to their right simply because it is a natural blind spot. This becomes a much more serious issue for many of us who dance close-embrace.

This common-sense and simple rule of "NO OVERTAKING ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE" frees us from wishing we had the use of either "X-Ray vision" or "Reading (those very silly) Minds" .

Well, the tango etiquette suggests that you dance as close to your (leader's) right hand side exactly to prevent that happening. If you go to the middle, you lost your place.
Instead of that, I urge the leaders of the tango that if you have space in front of you, USE IT! It's there for a reason and the reason is certainly not to have half of the dancefloor empty and the other half completely congested because of one thoughtless leader. But that's another discussion...
